Crafted in Burma (modern day Myanmar) in the early 20th-century, this round betel box is decorated in a style known as "yun" ware. Cloaked in layers of soft red-orange cinnabar lacquer, then finely etched with intricate line work and filled with green and black pigments. The design of this one is a selection animals in an intricate grid pattern.
Could be admired for it's original hospitality purpose and craftsmanship or re-imagined as a jewellery box.
